Want to plan an epic Seattle elopement? Nita and Nick did! They flew to the West Coast from Atlanta and said I do on the rooftop of the Seattle courthouse. Which, by the way, has the most epic views overlooking the city and Mt. Rainier. Their October Seattle Elopement was one of the best days in the city weather-wise. Leaving Nita and Nick with the most incredible sunset ever. Not only that, but the vibrant colors of fall were all around us as we walked from their hotel suite to the courthouse and back!
Seattle Elopement
Hands down, Seattle is a popular US location for planning an elopement. But, when most people think about an elopement in Washington, they swim in visions of Rattlesnake Lake, Snoqualmie Falls, or even Mt. Rainier. Those are fantastic places to elope if you are a couple who shares an undying need for adventure or a love of hiking. However, the whole hiking on your wedding day thing is not for everyone, and I get that.
For some couples, hopping on a plane, with or without their passport is all the adventure they need on their wedding day. Which is an epic thrill! Those couples, like Nita and Nick, live for the experience of their elopement from start to finish. They know it’s about popping champagne bottles on a seemingly random Tuesday afternoon. Or dashing through the streets together in their wedding attire while capturing every candid moment of their wedding along the way.
Nita and Nick turned their jet-setting Seattle Elopement into a lively ‘just the two of us‘ kind of party. To kick off their day, Nita hired a glam squad to help her get wedding day ready. While the finishing touches were put on her soft flowing curls, Nick waited patiently downstairs. Nita and Nick wanted to plan a first look before heading to the courthouse for their vows. So we couldn’t exactly let him be present while Nita finished up.
Once Nita slipped on her gorgeous gown – and I mean gorgeous! It was time to meet Nick outside for their first look. Wedding gowns and veils covered in pearls were a huge wedding trend in 2024, but I hope they are here to stay. Nita looked beyond stunning in her off-the-shoulder gown with sheer sleeves and pearl accents. When Nick turned around to lay eyes on his bride he smiled that knowing, loving smile. They embraced slowly, soaking up every second of their moment together, enjoying their Seattle elopement exactly the way they’d planned it. Then it was time to dash off to the courthouse to get married.

If you’re thinking about planning a Seattle Elopement and considering the courthouse, you might not know this, but the courthouse offers a rooftop wedding! Like I mentioned before, the views from the top are incredible. With the luck of the fall weather cooperating on the day of Nita and Nick’s Seattle elopement, they said I do overlook the city. Below us, cars moved past and locals went about their day. But for Nita and Nick, the world stood still as they were joined in marriage.
